Yiorgos Depollas

This portfolio consists of 13 Polaroid snapshots of the photographer as a nude figure emerging from a dark background; in each photograph, he portrays a facet of his character. The self-mocking nature of the titles and the nudity imply a dialogue to which the creator has come unprotected, with no pre-planned defences. The viewer is faced with a body that manoeuvres, twists, turns and grimaces, as his body language outlines the multiplicity of characters that are all contained within the same flesh. The body thus appears as an ark that contains the wonderful and dark complexity of human existence.
